About this course

What if…Content crafted doesn’t always become a class, course, or video?

What if…Instead, content is crafted to be tools that help people be successful on the job? A job aid is typically defined as, "A sign, worksheet or other object which includes diagrams or a brief summary of instructions, such as a checklist. Designed to reduce avoidable mistakes by helping a person remember what to do, or be sure that they have completed all steps required." When providing instructions and how-to content, job aids can be a valuable resource to help your audience be successful. While a job aid can take a variety of formats and approaches, using good visuals can go a long way towards making them more successful.

This course has three videos focused on why you should consider job aids in addition to course content or as a replacement for it, and ideas for making your own job aids.

Also included is a resource guide and a job aid selection tool to help you in the process of deciding which options would be best to use when crafting job aids. These lessons and tools are here to inspire you and be used as a starting point for brainstorming for your own ideas. And to provide support for moving forward with job aids.
