Basics: Lighting Your Video
Adding lights to your video production is an easy way to greatly improve overall quality. While the idea of lighting can seem overwhelming or complicated – it isn’t. This two-part course covers various light options, proper placement, and basic troubleshooting tips.
In part one we cover several different types of lights and the challenges with each. Some are inexpensive and easily purchased, while others are a bit costly but have more flexibility. Regardless of the lights you use, there are a few basics to be aware of, including placement, light bulb color (temperature), and light strength.
In part two, we look at a basic three-point light set up. While there isn't one perfect way to set up lights, we walk through various options and show you the results. And, we talk about how to make the best use of natural light. At the end of the video, we cover some basic troubleshooting tips, like fixing glare on eye glasses.
